• In partnership with Joubert Group, the leader in Okoumé Plywood, CBG set up as early as 2000 a peeling mill, Compagnie des Placages des Bois du Gabon (CPBG). 35,000 m3 of impeccable-quality peeled veneer are produced annually and exported to international markets.
Lesser Known Timber Species (LKTS)
The natural forests are composed of hundreds of species and their sustainable management consists of taking advantage of this variety.
By initiating a demand for this range of timbers that natural forests can sustainably produce, we can reduce the threat of over-exploitation of well-known varieties. Generally designated as "less-used timbers" or "less-known timbers", STTC prefers to describe them as "timbers to promote". They can be a precious asset to the Company in its offer, but equally a substitute to better-known timbers, while corresponding to their qualities and aspect.
